P&G, Mars Pledge Indonesian Investments
Theindonesiatoday.com - US-based consumer giants P&G and Mars pledge Indonesian investments. P&G will invest in baby care products, while Mars plans a cocoa processing facility in the country.
Trade minister Gita Wirjawansaid P&G has expressed its plans to invest in Indonesia in a meeting with President SBYat the sidelines of APEC Summit in Honolulu, Hawaii over the weekend, Koran Tempo reported this morning.
Mars, according to Gita, also plans to establish a cocoa processing plant in Indonesia next year. Other than that, Mars CEO Frank Mars plans to develop environmentally friendly energy from seaweed in Sulawesi. Mars is one of the world's leading food manufacturers.
President SBY also had a closed-door meeting with leaders of Freeport McMoRan,Caterpillar, Chevron, and Marvell Technology.
Marvell, according to Gita, plans to establish design center for semiconductors in Indonesia. Marvell's founder Sehat Suharja is an Indonesian. (Theindonesiatoday.com)
